Music Question: Refreshing Metadata after Sonic Analysis

Today I finished my music library build on Plex. Hooray. I honestly don’t remember when this project began but it’s been months.

Hours of scanning folder by folder, using Musicbrainz to correctly tag or build tags for my library. Inserting them artist by artist and letting them go through sonic analysis. Now seeing my library work to my benefit is a joy. The smart player options are a joy.

But, and there’s always a but, I do notice that some albums that should appear in the live album areas show up in the standard albums, even though the musicbrainz listing should have this correct made me think that maybe I should now do a refresh of all metadata, but i’m worried that all of my progress with sonic analysis will be lost and i’ll have to do it all over again. I don’t believe that would be the case but would love to be reaffirmed before i pull the trigger. Any help would be great.

How about testing it with one artist first?
And no, it shouldn’t reset the sonic analysis. Nor the loudness analysis.

That was my thought as well, just figured i’d ask if anyone else had this experience. Thanks

These two things usually only become invalid if the structure of an album changes – i.e. tracks are added or go away, or albums are split or merged, or are attributed to different artists etc.
But they are updated automatically during the server maintenance period.

Perfect, sounds right to me. thanks.
