I have a huge collection of mp3. and flac. files organized with MusicBee. I have rated many of my songs but in the Plex app ratings disappeared , Why?

Plex doesn’t read ratings from your files.
Why?
Ratings are in files, it’s simple.
It really is not simple.
If Plex is changed to read the rating from your files, it also has to be changed to write the rating back if you change it via the Plex user interface.
However, Plex has a general design policy to never alter a user’s media files. (except deleting them outright, if requested and allowed)
Because of this, Plex will not write back changes of the rating.
Which then will cause the rating in Plex to get reset, as soon as the metadata are refreshed from the file.
The above behaviour would be worse, than not reading ratings at all.
Hence why Plex works like it does.
This is getting even more complicated if you consider ratings of multiple users.
