Though my friends and I primarily use Plex for video playback, I occasionally will stream full albums, some of which would benefit from "gapless playback". One example of an artist that makes "gapless" albums is Girl Talk, a DJ whose 60-70 minute tracks are usually broken into several segments for easy jumping.
Currently, when you reach the end of one track there is a 1-2 second gap between the previous song ending and the next song starting. It would be great if there was a way to close this gap to zero - perhaps introduce a precache feature for music where the first 5-10 seconds of the next song are already loaded such that the player can continue on without the gap?
I'd imagine this wouldn't be for everyone, so having it optional would be ideal.
