Music scan never end

Server Version#:1.13.6.176

Hi
I’m a new user, I’m using PLex Server Beta ArmV8 version 1.13.6.176 on a Synology DS218Play.
It’s all right with plex but when I add some new media (like photos) the library dosen’t update even if I started the automatic update in setting. So I tried to program periodically update but when the process start to scan music library it doesn’t never end…hte log files is full of strings like these

can you help me please

Thank you for your answer, I tried to reorganize with filebot but it doesn’t resolve the problem.
Then I move all the album folder from “music” to a new folder named “musica” …and after a complete scan it works …now the scan process finish!

Music Brainz - Picard is my tool for music organization.

  1. All music to an area where PMS does not monitor
  2. Music library is now empty
  3. Configure Picard to write new tags and move updates files to Music library
  4. One by one, drag & drop artists or albums into Picard and let it match.
  5. When you ‘save’ it will update the tags, rename the files, and put them where Plex monitors.

No more endless scanning because of bad tagging

I have 25,000+ tracks which demonstrate this to be true.

Hi, I have the same problem in Qnap TS-328 (ARMv8).
In TS-453Be (x86) with the same folder of music I have no problem.
The difference is that in the first I have 560 Album and in the second 1040. It takes 2 days and this does not change.
Version 1.14.0.391

If you add all the music at once, It will take forever (almost literally) to complete.

Adding it it ‘chunks’ of 5000 or so files is more appropriate. It will minimize internal PMS timeouts (which make it take so long)

And adding to @ChuckPa here:

When following his advice, which is indeed what you should do, do remember to optimize your database between every chunk
