Music search, partially broken?

I have a Plex server with 288K music tracks. All music correctly tagged. I’ve notice that when I search for an individual track like “Floating Bridge” on Eric Clapton’s album Another Ticket it finds it without issues, however if I search for “Eric Clapton Floating Bridge” it finds nothing. I’ve noticed this for pretty much all tracks that I have tested it on. Can anyone explain why? Is there some problems with search that gets confused when I add an artist name to the song title?

The same thing happens with albums. Searching for “Another Ticket” finds the album, but if I search for “Eric Clapton Another Ticket” it finds nothing.

Turns out it works again after optimizing the database

Make sure that

  • “Optimize database every week” is activated under
    Settings - Server - Scheduled Tasks
  • The server device is actually running during the time period which is defined on the above settings page. It also must have access to the media files during this period, so if your media are stored elsewhere, keep the NAS/server running and don’t swich off any network components connecting it to your server device.
