Music Sort Bug after 1.13.4.5271 patch

After the latest patch, I imported new music into my plex library. I noticed that the Sort Album field is pulling in the Album Title, even though all my tags are correct and present.

Ideas?

Thanks,

  1. File format?

  2. ‘Local Media Assets’ at the top position under
    Settings - Server - Agents - Albums - last.fm
    and
Settings - Server - Agents - Albums - Premium Music
    and
Settings - Server - Agents - Albums - Personal Albums

  3. ‘Use embedded meta tags’ activated in the properties of the library?

  1. MP3

  2. yes

  3. yes

Could you please post the Plex XML info of the first track of that album?

Hm, that is a weird workaround you are using there for sorting albums. Wouldn’t it be more sensible to get the full release date correctly imported?

Did you previously have the same album in your library? You might have to Plex Dance the album in this case.

Workaround? I am not doing any workaround. I just added new music to Plex and it messed up the sort dates. I have all album dates correct, i.e. 1970-05-16 . I am very strict (■■■■-retentive) about the metadata on all my music and movies/tv before I add them to Plex.

I am saying that placing the release date into the field for the ‘sort title’ is actually a workaround.
You will then have to set Plex’s library sorting to ‘Title’ instead of ‘Newest First’ or ‘Oldest First’, if you want these ‘Sort Titles’ to be effective.

If you set the library sorting to ‘Newest First’, the content of the ‘Sort Title’ field is not used for sorting. Instead, the field ‘Originally Available’ will be used.
