My experience moving content from cloud storage providers

So far I have tested MultCloud.com, CloudSync from Bdrive and CloudFuze.
CloudFuze has got the fastest transfer speeds and it does not use your bandwidth. It does everything on their side. Their web interface is ok but lacks more details and actions in the migrating process. Their support is top and respond immediately.
CloudSync has an acceptable speed but it depends on your upload and download speed. Their support takes days to answer.
MulCloud also does evrything on their side but the speeds are as fast. Their web interface has improved a lot and shows the details of each transfer and has a Retry button for the error files that could not be transferred.
I have been moving from Amazon to Google and from Google to Google.

I tried MultCloud for a bit but I wasn’t getting much more than 4-5 MB between Google and Amazon. My own hosted server can consistently give me between 8-10 MB, so I ended up dropping them. Any observations on CloudFuze’s transfer rates?

It varies, you really can’t see it on the interface but you need to measure the amount of data processed in a certain period of time. I have gotten from 15MB to 30MB from Google to Google and 10MB to 20MB from Amazon to Google.

Okay, nice. I might give them a try then.

$7 cloudatcost.com lifetime 1gigabit unmetered box and an rclone install using the --no-traverse flag is super efficient and cheap enough that no one could complain.

Plus you can keep using it to keep cloud’s in sync

Wait, you pay 7 bucks once and it’s available indefinitely? That’s a no-brainer.

Yup I use it with some cron scripts to move from cloud to cloud keep em all in sync

Thanks for the tip, just signed up! Now my Plex box can go back to being devoted instead of doing double-duty.

That sounds interesting, what OS do you use?

Ubuntu 14.04

I’ll get my stuff together make a gist of my scripts

@martinbowling

What kind of speeds do you get from amazon to google? I am using a vps currently and getting 25MB/s. Just want to see if its the same speed being in Canada?

Ranges from 20-25 generally have had as high 45-55

@martinbowling

What datacenter do you use? I’ve just installed Ubuntu-14.04.1-LTS-64bit on DC3 and… nothing. I can’t login just to verify it’s there, let alone configuring to get it working. The server is seemingly running in their cpanel, but that’s it. $7 isn’t much at all, but I should be able to ping that thing at least.

Looks like I’m not the only one experiencing this. People report similar problems on /r/CloudAtCost

My CAC Server has just sat like this since purchase

@halfluck

How long has it been since you originally purchased your CloudPRO instance? Mine had been installed in minutes after requesting, but isn’t accessible at all.

@sh1ny I just purchased it after reading Martin’s post :slight_smile: around 3-4 Hours

I’m still holding a bit of hope…

@halfluck

Same here. Well, I don’t hold my breath, but a small VPS for lifetime is a nice addition to my environment, though too good to be true.

Btw, back on subject. I tried MultCloud (monthly Premium) and am getting around 2MB/s from ACD to GDrive. Not overly happy with it, but it’s usable.

hay cyber week there 80% off some good deals wow

My cac server is in the same boat, setup pending…

Hopefully they are just overloaded with demand… But it has been in the queue for over 12 hours now :frowning:
