So I have a Plex media server running, but sometimes I want to be able to listen to my music when I am not in a room with a TV and actually want some decent sound levels.. so I'm in the middle of building myself a stereo :)
I have a raspberry pi, ATX power supply, amplifier, pair of decent shelf speakers and all powers up and works well... thing is, I want to make it into something that looks decent as well... I have a 7" touchscreen monitor which I would like to use with rasplex on my pi... I have a kernel that I have compiled myself which works fine on raspbian and xbmc... but I would like to try and use rasplex for its better integration with my Plex server... problem is that I can't update the modules and firmware since the filesystem is mounted RO and despite a few attempts I can't get it RW to allow me to change the modules and firmware to go with my kernel image...
Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
(PS, no I don't want to buy an ipod, or other mp3 player so please don't suggest it... I want to build my own Pi based stereo B) )

Sorry, this is not possible. Can I suggest that you look at Musicbox http://www.woutervanwijk.nl/pimusicbox/ I use this on a Pi in rooms where I don't have a Sonos device
Just a blanket "can't be done"? I know the touchscreen can be enabled in Openelec so if I get a working version of Openelec, how can I add the Plex stuff to it?
