My login via ipad/tv app tries to login to different account, does not login to main plexpass

Hi, I am a longtime plexxpass subscriber. Awhile back, I tried to recreate my plex media server library in a new account as I couldn’t get plex to show my iphotos and music anymore.
Once i created the new account, i added these libraries but it still would not seem to find my photos or music. It always used to in older versions of plex, but after the many updates of plex and the mac, it no longer does. I do not know why. Is it because my music and photos are in icloud? How do i get this issue fixed?
Anyway since it didnt work, rather than adding in all my movies and tv media again, I simply went back to my original plexxpass account. Alas, now any updates, and logins from other devices are a pain as it seems to always want to sign me into the other account I made. Apple log in, email both have the same issue. I guess as I used my same email for both accounts. I have now deleted that one via the plex app on the TV. I also have trouble authenticating when signing into my plexxpass account. I get the code via my phone and when I enter it it says it does not recognise it for the plexpass account. AArgh. What do I do? I just now have turned 2factor off as I got sick of the hassle there, but is there a way I can get my plexxpass account fixed and get 2factor working correctly? Do I even need it?. I can login on the mac, have just changed my password and relogged in but today cannot login via my ipad using my plexxpass account email/appleID and password. It says “the value for the field is already taken”. and “User cannot be authenticated”. Sorry I am not very good with computers and find it all more and more confusing now and am frankly out of my depth. Any help appreciated, thanks, kerry

Update: I have successfully logged in now on the TV and pad via google. I still cannot get via apple to work but at least I can now view my media. Also I have copied my itunes and iphotos libray to an external hard drive and told plex’s library to link to thaem. (But of course the libraries dont get automatically updated like they do in the icloud versions. I guess i will just have to keep copying the libraries to the hard drive to get them as close to updated as I can. So for now that’ll do.

It seems you fixed this on your own.

Just some context… the Plex Media Server expects your media files to be “locally mounted” to the server; that’s not working with files backed up to iCloud.
As for the sign-in… if your account is linked to a Google Account, you cannot just use sign in with Apple. Consider it like working for 2 companies… you’ll get a badge that says you are yourself… but that doesn’t mean your badge for company 1 will give you access to the office in company 2.

Hi Tom
Thank you for your response earlier today, much appreciated. Yes I have managed to login on the various devices now, so thats good.
No, I had not realised the login process was as you say, I assumed it was giving me multiple choices and all would work at any time. I now understand once youve made your initial selection thats it. Thats fine, I will now continue with that, and thanks for explaining that my media files need to be locally mounted, makes sense. Cheers
regards
kerry
