My Media Server can't find itself

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2457

Howdy,

I was having some issues connecting to my PMS machine (Windows 10) and when I checked it out it said my credentials had expired. I logged back in but when I went to the web page it was stuck saying it was looking for a server. I noticed that the server version was quite old so I downloaded the latest version and installed it. I rebooted when it was done.

I have the Plex icon in my system tray. When I chose About PMS I get the version number. However, when I launch the program, I only see the items that I can stream from Plex but I don’t see any of my local files. When I click on Your Media, it takes me to a page that tells me I should download PMS.

So, PMS is installed but the web client (127.0.0.1:32400/web) doesn’t know it’s installed. I’ve tried multiple browsers and they both do the same thing. I also have a Fire Stick pointing to that same server and it also only shows the “on Plex” items instead of the local files.

Anyone know what I can try to get this working?

Thanks.

I had the same issue for a few weeks. If you still have the issue, refer to "Get Plex Media Server" Loop
