I have used Plex successfully (local only) since 2017 including apps for Windows, iOS devices, Roku, and Xbox.
PMS runs on:
• HP OMEN Desktop PC 880-150t
• 8th Generation Intel Core i7+ 8700K processor
• HyperX 16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB) Ram
• 64-bit Operating System
• Liquid-cooling system
• MS Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
Media resides on a Western Digital 8TB MyCloud NAS (with a second 8TB NAS as a backup).
About 2-3 weeks ago, Plex can no longer locate media files.
- After logging into my account, I click on LAUNCH. Message displayed is “Your Home Screen is Empty”
- Clicked on Home, then More. Sometimes the message is displayed “+ Your Media” When I click on this, the same button is displayed “GET PLEX MEDIA SERVER”.
- Plex Movies & TV and Web Shows are displayed and available, just no personal media.
- Under “Your Media” in the left side, nothing is displayed.
- When I click on “Your Media”, a message “Add your Media to Plex” message is displayed. Beneath that message is the button for “GET PLEX MEDIA SERVER”.
- I’ve uninstalled PMS, and reinstalled PMS several times, but cannot get out of this loop.
PROBLEM RESOLVED. 02/26/2020 - I uninstalled the PMS from my Windows desktop similar to earlier problem solving. I performed the following steps.
- Deleted both Windows 10 registry entries Plex, Inc. and Plex.tv (if it exists).
- Open your Windows Registry by typing regedit in the search bar on the taskbar.
- Open the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
- Open the folder SOFTWARE.
- Locate and delete the folder Plex, inc.
- Locate and delete the folder Plex.tv (if it exists)
- Re-booted Windows desktop.
- Installed PMS update 1.18.8.2461-03ad9abb4 dated February 26, 2020.
- Sign-in to your account. If LAUNCH button appears, click it.
- Under your Home panel, click on MORE >.
