Artist metadata is out of control and it’s wrong in pretty ridiculous ways. I have “prefer local metadata” turned on and yet it will often pull things out of its ass and combine artists poorly.
Here’s just a couple examples:
Dozens of albums are incorrectly attributed to Snail’s House. This mostly happens to compilations or soundtracks with multiple artists but it will also happen to artists that are by one single artist.
Album Artist is set to S2TB Recording but all those individual track artists should be kors k.
This is a split EP between Masayoshi Iimori and viwiv but it’s mangled the tags. Album Artist and tracks 1 & 2 should be attributed to “Masayoshi Iimori, viwiv”, as is tagged in the ID3 metadata but it all got misattributed to solely Masayoshi Iimori.
I have one single split single tagged as DJ Shimamura vs Kokushimusou and now every single DJ Shimamura track or release is tagged under DJ Shimamura vs Kokushimusou
I could go on and on but the point is my metadata is completely busted. I tried refreshing metadata but it made no difference. It actually changed one album from one wrong artist to a completely different, still wrong, artist.
What do I even do at this point?
