My server can't transcode after latest update

Server Version#: 1.40.4.8679

Hi,
After the latest update of my Plex server (Windows Server 2022), it can’t transcode anymore.
If I have HW transcoding enabled I get this error: An error occurred trying to play " ".
Error code: s1003 (Network)
If I have HW transcoding disbabled I get this error: Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.
These errors happened right after I installed the latest updatem before this everything have worked for years.

Thanks for your help.

Do you have a custom transcode path set (the Transcoder temporary directory setting)?

Yes, I have set up a RAM disk and I am using that path.
Edit: I just tried removing that setting, but I get the same errors.

Could you provide the logs after testing it with the setting removed?

Yes, here they are. I removed the setting for the temp dir and first tried with HW transcode enabled and then disabled. I get the same errors.

Thank you!

@fl00blab please try restarting PMS after removing that setting, it appears we cache it places we shouldn’t…

Hi,
Yes, when I restarted Plex after removing the custom path it works again!
So does this mean I cannot use a custom path at all? I was trying to save my SSDs a little by running it in RAM.
Thanks!

Looking through your logs, it appears that your transcode path was set to R:Transcode (there is a missing \ after R:). I suspect that was your issue.
