My shield tv 2019 pro location reason transcoding

My shield tv 2019 pro is transcoding during remote playback I want it to play in original quality, and I set all the settings in shield tv settings to play in original quality, but it still doesn’t work.

Server logs will tell more about why the video is being transcoded.
Keep in mind, there’s many factors when it comes to that decision, not only the streaming quality settings in the client.

Other factors are e.g.:

  • streaming bandwidth limit in the remote access settings
  • insufficient internet upload bandwidth
  • player not supporting to direct-play your video (admittedly that’ll be rather unlikely with the Shield).
