Nagging emails verging on SPAM

I have a secondary, non-Plex Pass account that I use for testing purposes. I received the email regarding Plex Pro Week, and the offer for a discount on Plex Pass, which is reasonable and appropriate.

But then I have received no less than four additional DAILY “reminder” emails, nagging me to take advantage of the discount, with obnoxious prompts like “Think fast” and “Tick, tock, tick.”

If I did not already have a lifetime Plex Pass on my primary account, this type of spammy behavior would all but guarantee that I would NEVER buy the pass, and might induce me to drop the pass I have, if it weren’t lifetime.

I realize I can unsubscribe so I wouldn’t have to witness this crappy behavior, and I probably will, but that’s not the point. The point is, this is crappy behavior that I would expect from infomercial charlatans that are trying to browbeat people into buying their flashy-but-fake junk products on late-night TV. You are abusing the privilege of your subscribers’ trust.

I sincerely hope Plex isn’t one of those.

My impression is that every company that sends me junk mail has started to send a lot more of it in the last few years. I’m getting daily contacts from some outfits. It is ridiculous. Glad you called out Plex, I hope they listen.
