Naming a special

I cannot get plex to properly pull the metadata for a file on my server.

Inside Television\Jonny Quest (1986)\Specials\
Jonny Quest 00 Jonny Quest vs the Cyber Insects.avi

And for some reason all it wants to do is set it as episode 00.

I’m going nuts trying to figure out why it can’t pull the right info. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried

It moved it to a Specials folder, but it still isn’t pulling the metadata.

If you now have the naming correct you may need to do the Plex Dance to get them to update.

  • remove entire show folder from library location
  • update library to remove the old entries
  • empty trash and clean bundles to remove all remnants
  • put the folder back
  • update again

haha. Plex Dance or PIA?

Sometimes I wish the Refesh button would do all that for a single episode or movie.

I think I’m just going to give up.

I know this is pretty old, but is it because the special needed the year (1995) that it was made, and since you had it in the 1986 series, it couldn’t figure it out?
