I am working on a Library of college football games and I am wondering if there is a way to name seasons anything other than ‘Season 1’.
My Folder Breakdown works like this
/Auburn
/Year (1982 Season)
/Game (Auburn vs Alabama)
Auburn - SXXE01 - Auburn vs Alabama (Game)
Auburn - SXXE02 - Bear Bryant Show
I am wondering if the season has to be a number or is there anyway to make ‘Season 1’ a block of text instead (ex. Auburn vs Alabama)?
If you’re into an ‘Other Videos’ Library - you’re probably not having much luck. That process is quite the nightmare to be honest.
A slightly better way is to create an actual TV Show Library and make it’s primary Agent ‘Personal Media Shows’ when you set it up (in the Advanced Settings). You can then edit to suit, but you’ll get the season/episode structure you’re looking for.

As these are sporting events the frame grabbed (you can see mine are all Ingrid Bergman - in the single test file I used) may contain a spoiler. You can circumvent that with a manually placed image if you prefer and find it necessary. Just name a jpg exactly like the ‘episode’ and drop it in along with the episode.
Thanks and that’s where I am stuck at to be honest. I am wanting to change the name of ‘Season 1’ in the TV Show structure and I am not sure if that’s a thing that can happen?
Probably not in a TV Show Library - your shows may become invisible.
You can put on the gloves and leap into the ring with Plex in an ‘Other Videos’ Library, but OTB and every bookie in town is laying odds on Plex by a large margin.
After a lot of blood loss on your part and several doses of smelling salts you may be able to come away with something like you want without brain damage, but glove up and see what happens. I’m not very hopeful.
You should be forewarned however this is NOT going to be intuitive AT ALL. You’re basically going to be on a click-fest through Experimentation Hades, hammering yourself into one corner after another and at times you won’t even know where you are or how you got there, much less how to get back.

There’s an idea.
A blank image, poster sized, that you create in fast and dirty fashion in Paint with some descriptive text and call it a day.
It’ll save you the ‘Punch Drunk Effect’ later in life from having your head beat on repeatedly by your Media Server Solution.
