Naming Multi Volume, Multi Disk Collections

Server Version#: Version 4.16.4
Player Version#:

I have read through all the how-to’s and searched the forum, but have been unsuccessful in finding my answer, so if it is out there and has been answered, I do apologize.

I am trying to add the Looney Toones Golden Collection which consists of 6 volumes, with 4 cds in each volume. I have tried, as a test, name them like this:

Looney Toones - Golden Collection
Volume_01
Disk_01
E01 - Baseball Bugs
Disk_02
E02 - Duck Amuck

but it shows up as:

Season 1 and Season 2

Is there way to name these so that they show up as;

Volume, Disk, Episode?

Many thanks in advance.

Sorry, there is not. Plex only does Show>Season>episode.

I think there was some other long forum topic about how people handle Looney Toons

Thanks for responding BigWheel and TeknoJunky…I will try your solution TeknoJunky, and thank you for sharing your solution!.. :100:…Isn’t it amazing that Plex can come up with all these “new” features and options, that most don’t seem to want or need, yet still can’t seem to do things that center on the core reason for the program?.. :rage:…I would think that this would be something that would be incorporated as part of the basic system…Perhaps it is time to look at other options…

I ran this twice and while it created the yearly folders, it did not rename the files, nor did it move anything into those directories… :pensive:

worked for me when I did it for my dvds.

the ripped source files have to be named exactly, the script is not that flexible as I recall.

you also might want to check permissions.

and if you used an administrator prompt or not, try the opposite.

make sure you follow all the directions exactly, you can’t simply just run the script on file you already ripped/encoded.

Ok…maybe that is the issue, my files were already ripped…
