I have successfully been running my plex server for a year now and have had no real issues with tagging.
Last night I added the TV series Gomorrah to my TV series folder and no matter how I rename the files Plex will not find it and show it in the Library.
I have tried both spellings (Gomorrah and Gomorra) and looked at TVDB but it will not display.
I have never had this problem with any other show before.
Gomorra: La serie - TheTVDB.com - Gomorrah at TVDB
(assuming this is isn’t due to a Language issue - that’s what I see in English)
A TV Show Library/
…Gomorrah (2014)/
…Season 01/
…Gomorrah (2014) - S01E01.xxx
…Gomorrah (2014) - S01E02 - Do You Trust Me.xxx
…Gomorrah (2014) - S01E03 - Episode Name Optional.xxx
FileBot (link in my signature) can handle that for you automatically or manually in seconds.
What FileBot can’t do is remove possible embedded metadata in the Title Field of MP4/M4V files. Plex will read this info and prefer it over a perfect file name/structure, but you can combat that situation by moving Local Media Assets to the bottom of every agent list you can find. All tabs in TV Shows and Movies here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200241558-Agents
Just drag LMA to the bottom of the list and drop it. If you do have embedded metadata this will cure the issue, if you don’t it won’t matter. LMA will do what it has to from the bottom.
Renaming/restructuring is best performed OUTSIDE the library and you may need to write a new bundle for the show or movie so The Plex Dance® was invented:
Well - if you look hard enough you can find FileBot free and I think this is part of the reason this show isn’t working for you…
Not following the instructions - or not reading the suggestions fully - or giving up too easy.
Clearly the show matches in the examples shown.
Perhaps those previously mentioned log files may help?
