Naming Of TV Series Gomorrah

I have successfully been running my plex server for a year now and have had no real issues with tagging.

Last night I added the TV series Gomorrah to my TV series folder and no matter how I rename the files Plex will not find it and show it in the Library.

I have tried both spellings (Gomorrah and Gomorra) and looked at TVDB but it will not display.

I have never had this problem with any other show before.

Any Ideas?

Gomorra: La serie - TheTVDB.com - Gomorrah at TVDB
(assuming this is isn’t due to a Language issue - that’s what I see in English)

A TV Show Library/
…Gomorrah (2014)/
…Season 01/
…Gomorrah (2014) - S01E01.xxx
…Gomorrah (2014) - S01E02 - Do You Trust Me.xxx
…Gomorrah (2014) - S01E03 - Episode Name Optional.xxx

Public Enemy Number One is poor naming and structuring:

Pay particular attention to TV Show Naming and Structuring.

FileBot (link in my signature) can handle that for you automatically or manually in seconds.

What FileBot can’t do is remove possible embedded metadata in the Title Field of MP4/M4V files. Plex will read this info and prefer it over a perfect file name/structure, but you can combat that situation by moving Local Media Assets to the bottom of every agent list you can find. All tabs in TV Shows and Movies here:
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200241558-Agents
Just drag LMA to the bottom of the list and drop it. If you do have embedded metadata this will cure the issue, if you don’t it won’t matter. LMA will do what it has to from the bottom.

Renaming/restructuring is best performed OUTSIDE the library and you may need to write a new bundle for the show or movie so The Plex Dance® was invented:

The Plex Dance®:

  1. remove show/movie from library
  2. rescan library files
  3. empty trash
  4. clean bundles
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200392106-Library-Actions <— scan library files, empty trash, clean bundles
  5. bring names and structures into compliance/Move LMA/etc
  6. replace corrected show/movie into library
  7. rescan library files

All Steps. In Order. No Shortcuts.

Still No Joy?

That guy’s forehead is definitely in the running for an Emmy.

Nope no joy.

Not tried filebot yet. Not paying $20 for it for one tv show. thnkas for your suggestions anyway

Well - if you look hard enough you can find FileBot free and I think this is part of the reason this show isn’t working for you…
Not following the instructions - or not reading the suggestions fully - or giving up too easy.

Clearly the show matches in the examples shown.

Perhaps those previously mentioned log files may help?

drag zip file to message window and drop it.

Reboot of my PC running the media server solved it. Just named episodes as “Gomorrah.S0xExx” and it worked fine. Didn’t do anything different.

Never had an issue with any shows / movies before

Don’t know if it was a scraper issue with TVDB as movies I was adding at the same time were appearing and getting information no problem.

Strange one

As for the Filebot, I read on a few posts that the new version was only on windows store and the older versions were not working correctly.

You got a link to your setup exe on Google drive or anything?
