Hi developers, are you planning for any app for sharp TV
Bump, we need this.
I would really love to see a Sharp TV app!
I have a nice 70" Sharp Aquos and the DNLA playback is very flake (movies often just die ate 1 hr - end up watching the ending on the PC). The DNLA UI is just horrible on top of the inconsistent playback.
I switched over to using a chrome cast on the tv, but that requires using a tablet or phone to start and stop the movie vs .my harmony remote. It’s better, but not perfect.
I bought a 55" Ruku tv with the Plex app and it is so much smoother of an experience. I so wish i had that on the main tv.
Guessing nobody is willing to offer an answer to this, so we can all just assume it’s no. I also have a 70’ Sharp Aquos. Very nice tv. Unfortunately, I purchased it right before I found this awesome app called PLEX. 
Like the other user stated, the DLNA support is horrible. If I would have known about PLEX a couple months sooner and knew there wasn’t an app for Sharp tvs, I would have purchased my 2nd choice which was a Samsung. My other Samsungs, a 55" and 32", in my man cave have the app and I love it. Anyway, would be nice if someone would at least give us an official answer so we’re not holding on to false hope. Thanks.
So… Have we heard an answer? I just bought a sharp tv and just made the assumption that an app would be available. I have a Samsung tv as well and love the app. I’m a big supporter of the plex software and I think the developers have done a very nice job. I hope to hear some feedback on this. Thanks guys!
Just my private opinion about these “smart” TVs:
If you buy a TV nowadays, I’d select one which offers me a great picture and has enough external video sockets.
We’ve seen too often that the electronics of those Smart TVs are underpowered, and are no longer supported after the device is out if warranty.
If you have a 1080p screen and looking for a Plex client, get a Roku, a nVidia Shield or a RaspBerry Pi 3 as an external device.
If you have a 4K screen, get either a Nvidia Shield or an Odroid C2 as a Plex client.
Those will function way longer than the embedded apps in your screen and will also provide you with better functionality, Plex-wise.
So, I’d not worry too much about a missing Plex app for your Sharp TV.
