I am trying to stop a user from accessing my movies and stuff. I deleted the user and deleted all authorized devices. But the user still has access to it. Not sure what else to do other than what I have already done. Any help would be appreciated!
Are we talking about somebody you’ve added as a friend and with whom you previously shared some libraries, or did you share your own account credentials?
For #1: removing the shares should do the trick; if they’re still watching some content that’s been cached you could stop that stream from the now-playing dashboard.
For #2: That’s never a good approach; you could attempt to change your own password and sign-out all devices in the process.
Thanks for the reply. They do not have my credentials, but they are added as a user. For example they log into plex with an xbox. I removed the user and cleared all devices in hopes to start fresh to manage the devices better. I have had some family email me the 4 digit code to where I authorize the devices again which is what I was hoping for. This one person still has access and simply just chooses another user to watch the movies which is why I think I need to clear the devices. I am assuming it is cached somewhere.
First of all, you should enable 2FA on your account!
Ref: Secure Your Account with Two-Factor Authentication | Plex Support
Secondly, you have all your shares as home users, which is wrong!
Managed users are for users (spouse and kids) living in your house
You should ask your friends to create a regular free plex account, and then invite that
Ref: Managing Library Access | Plex Support
And your problem is that all the people you share with have their devices signed in as you, due to using only managed users!
To fix that, you also need to change your plex password
https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/account
When doing so, make sure that the checkbox saying: Sign out connected devices after password change is selected
Note that doing so will disconnect all your friends, as they are signed in as you, so you might wanna prepare your friends first by letting them create a new account, and share with that!
Also, when changing your password, your server might also be locked out, so see here if so:
Ohh…and reason your unfriendly friend can jump to other accounts is due to your friends did not set a pin
Is the user using a Roku for watching? If so, unlink his Roku account from your Plex account.
