Need help getting plex to work offline

Today my internet went down and I realized plex don’t work without the internet by default.

I did some reading and I found a few topics with instructions to enable plex to work locally, but unfortunately its not working for me.

I went into terminal and added “allowedNetworks” with the value 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0

If I understand correctly, that covers any device attached to my network.

I still can’t seem to access plex from any device.

Anyone around to help me get this figured out so im not sitting here in the dark lol.

Thanks!

I don’t know how to accomplish what you want (what we all would like), but have you thought about using DLNA built into Plex Media Server and your device?
Many Streaming devices like Roku have support for DLNA.

Would this let me continue to be able to view my hdhomerun in the server when the internet is down?

And let me stream my movies and tv shows already recorded to my server?

Right now I have 3 :warning:’s

Have you thought of using Mobile hot spot with your Cell phone. That will allow you to be authorized with Plex servers / Plex mother ship.

I did, thats how i added my ip range to “ List of IPs & Networks that are allowed without auth”

I added 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0

From what inunderstand that will allow any ip with 192.168.0.##

Still cant seem to get it to work.
