So here goes. I tried to gather as much info as possible. One of my users has had the problem forever, but only him. It keeps buffering or playing in a very laggy way.
If he lowers the quality, it works fine.
He has the problem on any device on his network.
If he switches to LTE, problems are gone.
Nobody else from anywhere else has the problem.
I had him turn off everything else that was on his network and try to play a movie on a device. Same problem.
He doesn’t have the issue with other steaming services.
I had him try my devices at his place (he is my neighbor), same problem.
His internet is 400/50 and I tested it on multiple occasions and it’s more than enough for a 20mbps stream let alone 12. He has to lower it to 5 or 8 to get a stable viewing experience.
On my end, I can see his session buffering all the time while others are fine. It doesn’t matter if he’s the only one on or if there are 15 users using Plex at the same time.
I’m really out of ideas. I know it’s at his place only, but I can’t figure out why.
