Hello everyone I have a question that someone might be able to answer
My question is I have a Plex server on Nvidia shield and it runs great but I do get problems sometimes and I’m worried that I will lose my hard drive cause it’s on all the time it’s already showing signs of dying all my media is about 5mbps to run think the highest I have is 6 cause I have made the smaller with handbrake without losing quality anyway I’m wondering if there is a good cheap nas that I can get that will basically replace the shield
Might check in to building a unraid server. That will give you the ability to have data redundancy so not to loose data if a HD fails. Unraid also supports docker so you can run plex in a docker container.
I would say about 150 for my nas dosent have to have the HD in it at when I buy it cause I can get them over time
As for the shield I have the smaller I think the 2017 model so not a pro and for data storage I have to have at least 4tb at the moment cause that’s what my hard drive is at the moment
Still the same person here I’ve just changed my username lol
