Need help with Plex Server duplicates that arent actually duplicates

Server Version#: Version 4.141.0 or Version 1.41.3.9314 x64
Player Version#:Version 4.141.0 or Version 1.41.3.9314 x64

Hello, and thank you for trying to help. I’ve recently upgraded my storage, and I’m in the process of replacing 1080p movies with 4k versions(if available). Then duplicates were found. One of the movies thats being considered a duplicate is just a different version of the same movie, but it is a different version so its not a duplicate. The movies are Superman II and Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut. How would I go about correcting this so that they don’t show up as duplicates, and still show up under my Superman collection? Plex server identifies both movies as the Richard Donner Cut.

It is technically a duplicate, because it is the same title.
Plex has Editions to handle these, but they are a Plex Pass feature.

Without a Plex Pass, you will have to accept the duplicate.
You could perform a Split action and the edit the title of each to reflect what’s in it.
But they will still be connected in Plex in terms of playback progress.
