Need to hit the "play" button twice when connected to Android Auto

As the topic says, I need to hit the “play” button twice when I’m connected to Android auto. First time will start the song for one second, and then pause for some reason. Second time will play the song correctly. This happens both when I hit the play button on my car dashboard, and my phone screen.

PlexAmp 3.3.2 on a Pixel 2 XL. I will try and save a log next time I’m in the car and parked.
