When I try to install or update my router Plex Server version, I’m getting an “unknown error”.
Looking on the router updates files and logs, I can see that it searches for a specific arhive that it’s listed on PLEX main download site. Any ideea why ?
Wouldn’t it be nice of Plex if they put the desired package to the mentioned path?
We don’t know how much time it will take for Netgear to react on their mistake. But Plex can earn some more points by “fixing” others fail.
I belive the .tgz arhive with the Plex files might be generated by Netgear engineers, and sent to Plex for upload to their FTP servers.
If Netgear didn’t sent the arhive, Plex support never uploaded it.
My Plex server quit working on the R9000 also. And once I upgraded firmware it isn’t even available on the router anymore. I was able to download the newest Plex package manually but I don’t have the “install manually” option showing on the Plex page…so waiting on Netgear yet again.
I posted the same thing in the other thread about this. Exact same situation, I just bought it specifically for the Plex Media Server capability, got it all set up Friday night, and then of course I find out they broke the Plex feature. If only I had this same kind of luck with things like the lottery.
I have no idea about running things like a telnet server, and quite frankly, we shouldn’t have to, so hopefully they fix this quick. It looks like it’s just a simple issue of fixing the URL it’s pointing to for the plex installation file.
Hey everyone - this evening I found the Plex Server link issue to be resolved, the router had successfully installed Plex. Everything is working properly!
