This is an odd one. I’ve 6,365 albums in plex and for whatever reason this album The Very Best of 1989 – 2023 from Texas just refuses to match correctly, its the ONLY one.
I use Prefer local metadata and carefully tag all my files using MusicBrainz Picard. This release is tagged from Release “The Very Best of 1989 – 2023” by Texas - MusicBrainz and the metadata is shown below
Initially I thought it was just slow making its way to the plex back-end but this has been happening for a couple of weeks with this album and it just won’t match. Plex dance does not help.
It maybe just stuck or bad on the plex back-end so could someone from the metadata team take a look and see if all is okay for this release. Thanks.
I know partial logs are not ideal but I’m not uploading my full logs publicly. However, this seems important and is the point of the failure …

EDIT: While I initially thought this was one album its actually looks to be related to new releases. I tried to add https://musicbrainz.org/release/c71a0d11-b742-46a2-a484-71d25d5e7cae and the same issue happens.
Both of these albums were released and added to MusicBrainz recently so there maybe a problem with plex linking into MusicBrainz for new data.
Yep, we’re having some issues with this currently, it’s being investigated. Will update when I know more.

A fix has been deployed but will take a bit before everything is synced up again. Unmatched albums will automatically get matched during the maintenance hours if that task hasn’t been disabled, otherwise refresh the albums manually over the next day or two.

Thank you. Can confirm that refreshing the two unmatched albums this morning resulted in them matching correctly. Looks like the back-end problem is resolved.

I noticed a problem about 2-3 weeks ago with the Texas greatest hits album but was convinced I was doing something wrong or MusicBrainz updates was causing issues. Anyhow, lesson learned. Quick turn around also, the plex server/metadata team are just the best …
