The new version of the Plex app on my Roku will not play TV shows. Clicking the watch button just beeps at me. Clicking the play button just beeps at me.
I could try other buttons, but they don’t do a thing.
I can try logging into the app one more time, but if the first 5 restarts haven’t allowed me to get to the point of watching the video, why do I expect the next one will?
There is no way that any of this was tested in real life before pushing it out on us and giving no way to revert to something that actually worked.
Your right. The New App was obviously designed so you could not get access to your personal library unless you were willing to learn some new language or something. You were encouraged to use other paid and heavily advertised options. The whole point of PLEX was to give the users an easy way to watch their own collections, NOT line the pockets of advertisers and build another Netflix, that doesn’t work now at all by the way!
I have multiple times the scenario I laid out above was on the best attempt. The prior attempts didn’t even make it to being able to click on a watch button.
I can use the arrow keys all I want. I can navigate to my libraries: harder to find them, but I can deal with that. But once I click on the watch button, nothing else happens. The arrow keys don’t work, the play button doesn’t work, can’t navigate - it just beeps at me.
I am uncertain if this is one library or all libraries, one media type or it’s all TV shows or TV shows and movies. I am frustrated enough now that I’m not going to take the time to figure out how bad the problem is because every time I run into a problem I have to reboot and go right back to where I was to continue trying to figure out what the problem is. It’s pretty big. That’s the limit of what I know.
