Attempted to watch a show on my Roku in our living room and saw the new update. I was able to find where I needed to go, but the found that the show would not play. I uninstalled reinstall Plex and it still didn’t work. I went to our bedroom Roku and had the same issue there. It appears that all of my Roku devices will not work with the new Plex.
I just had the exact same thing happen. This new software loses the “Continue Watching” bar so I cannot find anything. This is a total complete absolute failure. Go back to the software that works!
I had to switch to my LG tv app to be able to navigate to anything outside of the bs recommended stuff and out of fear, when the tv asked to update it’s app, I declined.
Thank god that they didn’t release this total garbage on everything yet. My Roku boxes are completely useless for Plex now but fortunately for me, my main TV is a newer Samsung and the Plex app on it still works and is still usable. I really hope that they pull their heads out of their butts and realize that this update is pretty much a total failure for just about everyone that uses Roku and revert back to the previous and working version. Perhaps in the future, if they really want to try something like this, they either try it on a much less used platform or make it an optional and reversible version and actually email users with the notification and instructions to set and reverse it if it doesn’t work. Perhaps an actual usage video showing the differences and how to navigate to the functions or replacements of those functions may be helpful and reduce complaints when things are just different.
Same have the menus don’t work at all for me. I push back to the switch users screen and you can’t even move the cursor up or down. I watch one thing the skip intro button didn’t work. Once I leave the Home screen I can’t actually go back to navigate it. I went into one of my libraries an attempted to play something but it just wouldn’t click. The only way I could watch something was though continue watching.
They did respond in another thread. They aren’t rolling back, they are addressing some problems but not all of them and not quick enough. For me, the interface is unusable anyway.
SOME Problems? wow… anyone Notice how PLEX is pulling a lot of post that seem to challenge the few excuses we have received? this Big round thing on car mod is really pulling post… He must get a bonus for that
you lucky you don’t have a ROKU TV, have one totally useless with PLEX, everything else works perfect.. PLEX causing to freeze up and reboots. buttons stop working them BAM reboots..
Actually, I do have a Roku TV, it’s just not the main TV that the Wife and I watch most of the time. What I intend to do in the near future is set up Jellyfin and point it to my Plex folder. So far, the DVR function on Plex seems to still be functioning normally so I will let it keep doing its job and use Jellyfin to watch it on the TV’s that are connected to one of my Roku units and the Roku TV itself. I have locked down the Samsung TV to prevent future updates and will no longer perform any Plex updates on any of my PC’s that use plex or the Plex server itself. I will of course look into something else to fully replace Plex before they make it completely unusable for those of us that mainly use it as a DVR for live TV.
Had the same issue on my 6 roku boxes yesterday, after the update, with roku I literally had to resign back into all my boxes as if they were new and my plex it only gave me the option to create a new account and start over. I ordered 6 new firesticks to replaice my 6 roku boxes.
