Apple just released a new firmware 6.2

currently signed (and closed) firmware revisions are here:
6.2 (7.1.2) is the correct latest public iOS revision.
6.1.2 was closed on March 20 2013.
I can confirm, too: PlexConnect and OpenPlex is working on Apple TV 6.2 update (tested also on Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite beta).

I can't seem to get my AppleTV to download the update - fails with "The update was not successful. The Apple TV update couldn't be downloaded at this time. Try again later."
I'm currently on v6.0.1
Could this be because I have the DNS set to point to my Synology for PlexConnect? I thought that was only for trailers.apple.com though...
EDIT: Yep - since DNS was pointed to my Synology it wouldn't work. I turned that off and the update is downloading now.

This is a feature of PlexConnect, documented here.
Set your aTV DNS to auto and update. It’s the easiest way I know of. Just switch back to manual DNS once complete to hijack your app and use PlexConnect again.

Just updated to 6.2 today, get the trailers is unavailable when I try to connect.
Could anyone please assist with some advice, tried rebooting both PC and ATV3.

You are absolutely correct. I didn’t also write enough information. I was using Plexconnect with the previous firmware without any issues.
I shall endevour to read more but it did say there was no issue with 6.2. I couldn’t really find anything your advice on any topic to assist would be appreciated.

Apologies Ba and all,
After searching I still have no idea why the Trailers app will not connect. It was the same installation prior to the 6.2 update for Python.
Sorry but assistance would be welcome please. If you require a log file, please educate me if you would be so kind.
Many thanks in advance, I do not wish to reinstall the process onto the ATV3 again if it is not necessary. I have had this running for maybe close to a year prior to this update.
