So I have a new channel show up - FS2 (Fox Sports 2) and there’s no map for it. So I even delete the DVR and set it up again picking my correct channel guide and still nothing . . .
I’ve attached a couple of pics - Comcast has even “reordered” their channel a few years ago and even these have never showed up. Like they duplicated all of their channels adding them above 1000 - and more specifically for me they moved BBCAHD from 1225 to 1418. That hasn’t been a problem as I’ve mapped the channel.
But now there is a new channel . . . nothing to map!
It appears that you can only map the channels that the “guide” knows about. If it is not in the list provide by the guide you selected, you cannot map the channel. I ran into the same problem with my cable provider Consolidated Communications. I lost several channels because someone removed the upper channels from the guide.
I know this isn’t much help. It appears to be a result of their selected “guide” source.
Yeah - I know all of that - been frustrated by this for a few years now - as I mentioned a couple of years ago Comcast made these additional “libraries” of channels where they grouped like channels together . I initially tried to update my channels then but no luck and it really didn’t matter as I was able to map the change of BBCAHD . . .
However there is now a new channel and I’m looking to Plex for a response on how to get the guide updated?
Do I need to reach out to Comcast? Is it something Plex can do?
I have a feeling it’s going to be Comcast but . . . damn that’s going to be a lost cause as I have a feeling it will take forever to find the correct contact that will understand the issue and know what to do . . .
