So my computer crashed and I had to build a new one. Installed the newest plex server and when I open it up it says it can’t find servers and to download it. Well, that’s already done and I don’t know what else to do. All the self-help crap isn’t working. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but no go. Please help.
What do you mean by “build a new one”? Do you mean a while new computer, or just reinstalled some stuff. Uninstalling and/or reinstalling PMS does not remove any old information you may have. So if you were somehow using a different Plex account, you can’t get to your server since your client (Web) is not using the same Plex account. Like completely built a new computer from the case up. New os and everything. I am logging into the one account I have and its not finding the plex server I installed on this computer.
I have had the same problem for the last week. Cannot find server. I use google chrome and launch plex from there. I have reinstalled and uninstalled so many times over the last week but nothing seems to work. feels like there are a few out there experiencing the same problem. Maybe its not because of your new build?
Did you find any fix? I would think its not because the new build. Its just install server, load it up, and point it to my external hdd for the movies.
No it’s still not working. Can’t find server. Feel like it’s out of my control now. Working one day. Gone the next. No amount of installing and reinstalling is working. Am going to try and set up a new account and see how that goes
