New Content and Refreshed Content Losing Posters, Posters Turn Black

Server Version#: 1.23.4.4805
Player Version#: 4.57.4

I run Plex on UNRAID, and I’m using the latest version of the official Docker container.

After the last update, any new content imported or any old content that gets refreshed returns a black/blank poster.

I have Scanner and Agent set to Plex Movie for the library. I can get it to ‘fix’ itself if I switch the Scanner to Plex Movie Scanner and Agent to Personal Media, but then matching doesn’t work as well (for me). For my media, I clean and edit all of the metadata in my files and add the poster I want. My agents are set to use Local Media Assets first because of this.

Is anyone else experiencing this or have experienced this? I came across some older posts, but there weren’t any great suggestions for a solution.

Exact same problem here. When fixing it manually it seems it points to an empty file (posters and banners). The correct posters show up and I can manually select them. I checked the folder for rogue files but only the correct jpg’s are there. Any idea?

I have the same problem.

Unraid v6.9.2
Plex v1.24.2.4973

Anybody got this working?

Version 1.34.1.2590-74ea7099

Debian 4.19.194-3 (2021-07-18) installation

What finally fixed this issue for me was updating the Docker container to Plex v1.24.1.4931 (Aug 26th release). Plex asked me to update my scanner to the new Plex Movie (since using Legacy was the only way I could fix the problem) and suddenly it started working properly.

Thanks. I also finally was able to get it corrected. I did switch to Plex Movie (Legacy) with Metadata Refresh. Afterwards I did choose Movie > Manage Library > Update Matching

Afterwards I had to do another Metadata Refresh. And finally all my movies had the posters etc back.

hello, having the same problem. The poster used is a blank one (can switch to correct one manually). Tried to swtich to legacy, metadata refresh but half is still black.
