New content appears in "On Deck" but not in "TV" or "Movies" category

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171-ac2afe5f8
Player Version#: 2.12 (14020)

Short version: New content isn’t fully populating the correct menus on the AppleTV viewer.

When I add TV or Movies to my Plex library (by putting the file in an appropriate folder and doing “Scan Library Files” either on desktop of the machine running the server, or on AppleTV), the content is visible in “On Deck”, and findable via search, and in the “Recommended” menu, but does not appear in the “All” menu in “TV” or “Movies”. This is is specific to the AppleTV viewer: I can see the shows and movies just fine on the desktop client (indicating that there’s no problem with the formatting of the filenames); they just never make it into the full library listings on the AppleTV.

Thoughts?

Is this the Library tab/view vs the Recommend tab/view?

If this is about the Library tab/view, then you can force a refresh by choosing/toggle a filter (e.g. Unplayed).

If you can confirm that the latter works, then this is part of a larger issue that the Library view isn’t automatically refreshing. See this thread:

Yes, sorry. “Library” tab rather than “Recommend”

That worked! Now the previously missing shows are in all the menu views (or tabs, or whatever) that they’re supposed to be. Still a bug, but fixable. Thanks very much @darcilicious!

Great, I’m going to close this thread as a duplicate of the original if that’s okay with you.

If you need to. I saw that original post and didn’t understand how it applied to my situation until I saw your explanation in this thread. Cheers and thanks again.
