It’s been a while since I updated my Plex box with anything new but the lockdown saw me browsing for some new stuff. Of a clutch of new movies, about 2/3 of them end up in an inconsistent state - Plex finds a match and will pull basic info, year of release, sometimes the cast etc - but never stops whirling on the picture and the ‘refresh metadata’ keeps flicking on and off. When I looked at the server alerts it was constantly looping between ‘loading metadata’ and ‘finished processing’ for all the affected files. In the end I had to unmatch them all to stop the server wasting resources.
I’ve tried starting from scratch and tried replacement files but these particular ones seem to get stuck in the same loop every time. I never experienced anything like this when populating the server last year. I’m not even sure there’s any link between the movies affected - in a series of 3, the 1st and 3rd were fine whilst the middle one wasn’t.
