Server Says Downloading Metadata and Then Says Finished processing, but

Server Version#: 3.41.2

Nothing shows up. No posters, backgrounds, etc. It’s never done this before. Always worked fine. As of today it just quit updating new movies when I add them.

PS: Don’t even say update the software. I’ve had too many nightmares in the past doing that. Either this version continues to work or that’s it for Plex on my end. Thanks

You should update the software. I know it can be a pain sometimes but it often fixes issues.

Are you sure your version is 3.41.2?

On a different matter this happens to me sometimes. I simply either wait a while and it fixes itself up or you can force it to refresh metadata. That should fix you up.

If it’s that it doesn’t know what the movie is you can manually tell it what to search for.

Is 3.41.2 the plex for web version?

Oops! The actual version I’m using is 1.12.3.4973. I should have picked up on that sooner, sorry. It’s strange that this just started. I tried to update these 8-10 movies again this morning with little success. I’m still getting errors such as, “There was an error editing this item” from the screen where you select posters, which still do not show up. When you tell it to refresh metadata it responds every time without errors and takes forever to reach that point. Oh well…

I’ll give it another day. I’ll empty trash, clean bundles and optimize again as well. Thanks

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 5 minutes
  6. fetch log files and attach them here

Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.

Well unfortunately there were no problems with the database that I could tell. I am suspicious of Microsoft though being as they did an update to my system on the 20th (I trust MS OS updates about as far as I could throw them). I’ll go over all the system settings once I get back from a doctor appointment. It wouldn’t surprise me to find MS defaulted settings again. Thanks for the help and I’ll let you all know my progress later.

Still trying to figure out what is wrong between appointments and other stuff. It’s weird. I did get three of them added, mostly. No trailers or extra stuff, but posters at least. Also each of those took no less than 11 minutes to complete, so I’m not sure what is causing that. I have disabled everything in an effort to isolate the problem, but even that lent no light on the issue. Oh well I’ll keep plugging. Tomorrow is another day. :wink:

Well don’t ask me why cause I have no clue. Took a day off from the computer and TV and just a few minutes ago I decided to check Plex server. Low and behold it is back to working as normal. That is weird considering for days it didn’t work and now it does. Especially weird as I hadn’t done anything to the system. Oh well, either way I am a happy camper once again. :slight_smile: Thanks for all the feedback. Have a great weekend all.
