I am new to this to get the most out of using plex do I have to get an antenna for watching programs and away to put the Program Guide? sorry, not sure where to put this.

You either need to purchase a TV Tuner device that is supported by Plex. You then plug your home antenna into this device and follow both instructions for the TV Tuner and setting up Plex Live TV.

If you have a server running and are good with software/networking/unix, you can purchase a IPTV subscription and use a TV Tuner proxy to emulate a TV Tuner device.
This is what I am running on my server and it’s working well. Although it might take you some time to set up and requires software/networking knowledge.
I am using this Tuner proxy and it’s the best by far out there:
