New dashboard available only in one condition

Server Version#: 1.14.1.548 on Windows 10 Pro fully updated

If I open Plex console by double clicking on the Plex app in the taskbar then I do not have the new dashboard available. Web client version it shows me is the 3.77.4

If I open Plex console with address “https://app.plex.tv/desktop#” then I have the new dashboard with all monitoring and statistics. Web client version it shows me is the 3.85.2

Please note that the entire system (Windows also) has been installed from scratch only 2 weeks.ago so Plex install is a clean one (I have done the db restore of course).

Why do both do not point to the same WebClient version? Should it be only one WebClient version installed in my system? Is it a bug?

Thanks for any help.

Not a bug…
the hosted version (https://app.plex.tv/desktop) is always the latest release available – this is where you can e.g. test the latest features such as the new dashboard. The version bundled with the local install of your Plex Media Server tends to be a few releases behind (stable).

You can keep track of the different releases in the Announcements category of this forum (including release notes):

  • Plex Web – latest version as of today is 3.85.2
  • Plex Media Server – latest version as of today is 1.15.0.659 (beta version available to Plex Pass members); this version of PMS bundles Plex Web 3.77.4 (added to the local installs with PMS version 1.14.1)
