New Desktop software keeps trying to reinstall itself

Is anyone else having issues once they installed the new software and whenever I click on an icon to launch the player, it keeps trying to reinstall itself.

download the updated installer https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app
install it

Thank you for your help. I hadnt noticed that there was a newer version up yet.
