New Development - Opera TV App Store (Tivo, Sony TV, Samsung BluRay, etc.)

Ntlord, hit me up tonight (I’m in EST US -5) on google whatever their chat thing is called now (meikeric) and we’ll chat. So far everything has been client side JS.

Are you still accepting testers?  I JUST bought a Sony KDL-48W600B to pair with my PMS box, not realizing that the Bravia series doesn't support Plex :(

Hey, just wondering how the development is coming along? If you need any help/testing I’ve just sent you an email with my details. I have quite a lot of experience with html5 and JS.

Thanks!

Sony KDL-50W829B +1

Hello I'm from Brazil I have a KDL-47w805A have interest in participating in the test and share my impressions with the alpha version of Plex.

I have the Opera TV Emulator 3.4 installed and am trying to develop an application for webcam IPTV stream.

appreciate the attention, successful !

Hi, I have Sony KDL-55w829b and I’m definitely interested.

The project dead?

The project dead?

Yes I was going to ask the same, as this looked very promissing at the begining.

I don't think its dead, but the OP wanted something somewhat stable before releasing it for testing. He keeps mentioning its in alpha, and I think meikeric wants it to be more of a beta before release. Also, he may be working with ntlord who had some development done on the TiVo forums so they might be taking some time to combine their work into a single end release.

Their progress can be followed at http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=512505.

It is pretty much mostly working. The code can be downloaded here:

https://github.com/ntlord/PlexTivo

You need to sign up for an Opera development account, and add your device as a paired device. More information on that can be found here:

https://dev.opera.com/tv/testing-your-app-inside-opera-tv-store/

You can then launch the app from the URL launcher app that is installed once you pair your device.

You also need to install the Tivo.xml files (two of them) as profiles on your plex server, and then restart the plex. Since we are still in the alpha stage, I can't promise much support. But, if you find anything broken, let me know.

If there is anybody with strong HTML, css, and javascript (particularly jquery) skills. Hit me up, I'd love to have more help. One thing that it could use is some optimizations to make it faster on the tivo.

You can also follow our progress at the thread listed above.

Thanks for the info Ntlord.

Which Url needs entering for 'TV Application URL' when creating the app?

Thanks,

Charlie

Incredible work !!! You are making great progress, congratulations and many thanks for making it possible

EDIT

Thanks for the info Ntlord.

Which Url needs entering for 'TV Application URL' when creating the app?

Thanks,

Charlie

You want to use the URL launcher application that is installed when you pair your device to your development account, and then host the files locally on a web server. Then enter in your web server IP in the URL launcher.

Alternatively, you can use the Application URL that you are referring to, but then you need to host the files externally on a site with HTTPS.

Incredible work !!! You are making great progress, congratulations and many thanks for making it possible

It's not all me, I've had a lot of help over at the Tivo community forums.

Thanks Ntlord!

I knew I was missing something.

Managed to get it working fairly quickly but didn’t have time to test.

Would it work with an external IP for a remote server? Or is there a my plex function?

Thanks again.

Charlie

Hey guys. Sorry for the radio silence. I'm still chugging along on this. As someone alluded to, it's still very Alpha, and I'm trying to get it up to at least a Beta release. There are random freezes given the limited resources on my test BluRay player.  Additionally, Opera TV sucks. Just stating a fact...

I have a little more cleanup to do and to make sure all the tokens are transmitted as headers instead of as URL params.

First release will cleanly support MyPlex login and direct entered Plex servers (IP:Port).  I'm trying to also get shared servers to display in one unified search and lists vs. how the the Samsung app does it (where you have to go into each server).

I've spoken with NTLord and the original developer of the NetTV client, but at this time, I'm working solo off of the original NetTV code, albeit now it's very changed.

Props to NTLord for actually releasing a working version!

I'll try to do better in getting updates out more frequently.

Meikeric (Mike)

i don't seem to be able to connect. I tried several ip nrs, burt the response is check your internet connection or i get redirected to my router settings page.
Where do i find the right ip nr?

kind regards

Thanks Ntlord!

There is no myplex function yet. In theory, it should work if you forward your external IP to the plex server.
