New Downloads Feature Keeps Failing (for files larger than 2GB)

Did you need to re-download the movies or install an app update? Or does it just work now?

You definitely need the update. You shouldn’t need to re-download but if it’s still not working, try to re-download.

I reinstalled app on Android K88. Files over 2gb still fail to download.

@elsancho Can you verify what version you installed? The fix is in the current beta 8.26.0. You have to sideload that on Fire devices.

I am running the public version of Plex. Version number 8.25.1.28703. I assume that the fix will be implemented into the public version soon.

Same problem on Google Pixel 5. No SD Card is used. Will test Beta version now

yes Beta (8.26.0.28833) solved the issue.

PS I don’t really understand why “original quality” is the default. Should be 1080p 8Mbps I think (as more people should have limited storage space)

Just stumbled across this issue myself. Is the fix still in beta? Do I need to jailbreak to sideload the beta?

This is on a Pixel 5 with a file larger than 2gb.

In addition, Plex App acknowledged that 4.4Gb are being used by the app but there’s no way to access or delete it.

Beta has not made it to public yet. You do not need to jailbreak your phone. Just grab the file from the beta release announcement and run it. You do need to have the setting enabled to allow installing external apps, you should see that message when trying to install if you don’t have it enabled.
