My wife was looking at the schedule for tonight and noticed that a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy is not setup to record tonight. I took a look and noticed that a new episode is airing tonight.
Here it shows only 1 episode and it is next weeks.
She noticed the same problem last week when the same show didn’t get recorded.
I have the same problem. Around 25% of the shows I have scheduled do not appear in the EPG from Onconnect at Gracenote. It seems that this Gracenote service is very iffy. It works great in Europe, but here in the USA over the antenna, it does not.
I did something. I am not sure if this is for everybody, but here it is. On my Mac I went to ~Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases/ and I created a folder called backups (Just in case and moved the three tv.plex.providers.epg… files to this backup. I then exited the Plex server (shut it down) and then started it again, went to Settings (in the server) and Live DVR and I refreshed the Guide and VOILA! My missing shows appeared! This method is kind of like “Clear EPG Data” in EyeTV, and it worked. However, one has to know which shows are missing so one needs to manually check with TitanTV or TVGuide the lineups and when something is missing, try this again.
I think that plex needs to insert a button that allows one to manually clear all epg data and restore it without having to go into the system settings to deal with this bug in Gracenote. I am not sure if the Plex movers and shakers watch all the topics in the forums, but if they do, this is required ASAP and if they do not, someone tell them or tell me how to tell them! Thanks all
Update: Well, suddenly one episode that should air tonight has disappeared! So I am again doing a “refresh” of all data. Result was that the missing episode was NOT restored. TVguide reports that it is a new episode. So cancel my enthusiasm that this works because obviously a total refresh works only sometimes.
If you search for the show does it show in the Program Guide? If so schedule it to record “New and Repeat Airings.”
I am having this problem with a few shows primarily on CBS. (man with a plan, kevin can wait…) Last week it did not record, but I looked at the schedule and it showed that new airings for this week. Now I look and it shows no new airings when in fact there is a new episode tonight. The shows do not appear in a search.
I did the full refresh as suggested but ran into the same issue where it didn’t restore the missing item. My missing recordings also appear to be on CBS / ABC.
I am also having a similar problem. Shows on FOX and CBS that start at 7:00 PM show up a couple of days in advance but on the day of the show they sometimes disappear and the show doesn’t get recorded.
Do any of you have the EPG set to update more frequently? Mine was checked, I have now unchecked to see if it makes a difference.
No but I had the Enhanced Program Guide checked.
Looks like it is happening to alot of users. There is a post here asking for you to report your issues:

I tried deleting the tv.plex.providers.epg… database like someone suggested and it didn’t fix anything. I updated the Plex server today and the watch now option only showed 10 shows out of 47 channels at 7:00 PM today. CBS and FOX where among the channels missing. I deleted the DVR and set it up using a zipcode one town over. It seems to have added the shows back for now.
