New Experience Public Release Feedback

I believe they removed all music functionality from the new app and force folks to use Plexamp.

This correct. 2025.13 actually adds a new section called “Looking for Music and Photos” with hot links to PlexAmp and Plex Photos in the libraries screen when you choose “Show All Libraries”.

I fixed this bug this week and it should be out in an upcoming release.

Also fixed this this week and it will be released with the same update for the orientation fixes.

Are you guys also fixing the 16 library favorite limit? I can’t get to my other unfavorited libraries from the app.

Or at least enforce the limit on the favorite selection screen. I can select 20 libraries and then wonder why I can’t find the other 4.

I cannot find this either and I have no EPG being fed from my 2 HD Homeruns either.

Have you found a solution for this? Any way to force an IPv4 connection? Every other device I use can remotely connect.

I have been using this app sporadically since beta and the items I thought would’ve been fixed before launching to public haven’t been properly fixed.
The trap on an actor part is hit and miss, and still seems you back to the home screen when you press back on the successful launch of the abrupt section.
As a registered blind user, the fact that selecting the library you want now requires you to long press sucks huge time, accessibility hasn’t been thought out in any form on the app!
Another gripe is slow loading even on WiFi, and 4G/5G to… I can load Netflix and Amazon Prime faster!
I’m running a Honor 90, the old app was a dream, but this is a mess.
It’s as if the Dev’s have used both ChatGPT and Gemini to write the code for them, and honestly it stinks.
Plex will never learn about releasing something out of Aloha or beta to quickly and then suffering users slagging off the app and company on a whole.
We need answers and a fully working app, is this too much to ask for? Not a alpha release sent out to the masses expecting them to send in bugs etc.

After the latest update of the app on iPad, I’ve noticed the following issues:

  • At random, when launching the app, the libraries I had marked as favorites disappear from the list, and I have to manually reselect them;
  • Overheating and excessive battery drain;
  • If I enable subtitles, every time they appear, they cause minor stuttering in the video I’m playing.

HEVC vids stuttering on iPad for me regardless of subtitles, tried the same files with the VLC app and they play perfectly fine.

Yes… same for me! I’ve uninstalled Plex and now I’m using VLC (waiting for other updates of Plex App).

why did u uninstall the app? only installed apps gets updates

The new Download experience is awful…

  • Eps are not grouped by series but display individually.
  • In the library, downloaded movies/shows are not indicated by an icon, as they were previously.
  • Media icons are tiny and lots of wasted space which could make space for more media. The same way media is displayed in the current library and displayed previously.
  • I don’t need to see the library name mentioned in the downloaded media. Wasted space, info option if required.
  • Plex was stopping me from backing up my iPad as the downloaded items were included in the Plex app storage. I had to delete the app and reinstall the correct the backup issue.
  • Migrated downloaded media loses artwork, only way to fix this is remove and downloaded again. Very time consuming!

I feel like this update has made Plex features feel like a step back rather than forward.

Hello Craig,

todays update resolved the Dovi playback issue! Thank you!

FYI for those looking for the scan library function, in today’s 2025.13.0 release on the Library tab, you need to long press on the library name in the upper left corner of the screen to bring up the menu options for the library.

I agree with the comments on downloads. Not being able to manage downloads by season and show makes me want to pull my hair out. Please add those features back, or give us access to the old version of the app

Dovi Playback now works. But now other mkvs dont work….
Just checked my 4K libary and now ONLY Dolby Vision Profile Videos work. NONE HDR Videos.
And again the App is useless….

@Craig_Holliday please make a hotfix so that we dont Need to want 14days again.

The new update showed up on my iPhone and it has either broken or intentionally removed external display support.

I use a pair of xreal air glasses with my phone to watch Plex. I used to be able to play something and have the video fill the entire screen inside the glasses. The video would only play in the glasses and the controls would stay on my phone or I could sleep my phone to turn the screen off and the video would continue to play in my glasses.

Now when I play something it just clones the screen. The video plays on both my phone and in the glasses which gives me letterboxing. If I sleep the phone the audio continues to play in the glasses but the screen goes black since it is just cloning the display instead of properly sending video to the external display as it has always done.

I watch things in my glasses almost every day. I’m very frustrated that this new update has made the primary way I use this app so much worse.

This should be fixed in the next release.

This is fixed and will be in the next release. Won’t be 14 days. And we’re discussing a faster update.
