My TV is TCL. I did not do anything. One day ( recently) it just appeared like this. I knew it was not ok from my android phone, where it came , also on it’s own, some days before the TV.
In google TV I do not have an play store where I can manually search for app updates, it just does it on it’s own.
I think that depends on the device. On an phone iPhone 7 (which I keep as an extra and which still has the legacy app) it takes two taps with the legacy app: Hamburger button at the top-left to show the pinned libraries and then a tap to select the library. The same is true for my 7" Fire tablet (still has the legacy app). Maybe it’s different on larger screen devices?
At any rate, it doesn’t take 3-4 extra taps on the new app. Just the two.
When is the guide for live tv going to start working on my iPad? I have no program info and nothing listed but the channel info. I am a Long time plex pass user and I am paying for the guide to work and the ability to record. The new IOS app takes both of those functions away. I am also unable to delete a recorded program after watching it from the app. I want my money back. You sold me something I am not getting anymore. What’s up with that?
Depending on your Version of the new app. To get it sorted just go to server DVR settings, Take a screen shot of which channels you want to keep. Delete DVR, Create a New DVR and your iPad app should update with a new guide. May need to restart iPad and Delete your Favourite channels and recreate.
There is a fix in the newer Public Releases or soon will be available.
Can’t filter through all these messages but has anyone reported a black screen with audio when chrome casting from the new iOS app when hevc is enabled? When this setting is disabled it works fine.
Finally had the update forced on the device I stream to most, and I wasn’t expecting to care much. But the reactions were justified honestly. I don’t understand the reason for the vast majority of changes Plex has decided to make. The app clearly isn’t ready for prime time either with how features are missing and how easy it is to break.
Hopefully the guides for downgrading apps on iOS aren’t too complicated because one of my libraries is now completely inaccessible because I changed the sort to “unwatched”. Just selected that and POOF, the library went blank. Perfect thing to happen when in the middle of a show.
Besides all the many issues being reported, adding these so they don’t get missed:
App crashes when I try to watch a movie from one of my libraries. Cleared cache, still won’t play. Crashes immediately on hitting play.
Samsung dex is unusable. Trying to access libraries in dex doesnt work at all. It defaults to a library that is not one of my pinned items. Then, none of the controls work when I try to switch libraries. I have to force close the app then only watch items from my recommended tab.
App doesn’t save progress when watching something then coming back to it later after you do anything else on your phone. It restarts at the beginning of at the point you started watching st the beginning.
Getting constant playback errors, and source errors. Anytime I leave the app, it seems to give a playback error or source errors.
Absolutely. For a while more things were constantly being broken in updates, and I hated waking up and this or that didn’t work. I think I spent about a year on 1.19.x.
Don’t get me started on client updates… My main living room Fire Stick is still running 8.5.2.20133, and I love it.
This got installed on my Samsung tablet and I just can’t figure out how to get it to see my local plex server, it sees my friends remote server but not the one on the same network..
Any tips on how to fix?
I’ve already uninstalled, cleared data and cache and resigned in and never get any option to default to the local server
Also noticed that now there is no option to view the DVR Schedule through the app, are there any plans to add that feature back. Any time line on addressing the Guide as well.
