Just noticed Plex now splits up albums, singles & EPs and live albums.
When was this added in and are there any settings for it, just incase you want to manually edit something?

I think itās a cool feature and Iām happy itās been included. It makes everything look tidy. I hope we get some setting options in future updates.

Iāve said it before, and Iāll say it again: I REALLY wish you wouldnāt assume that everyone wants new features, especially CPU-intensive ones, enabled by default. I donāt use PlexAmp. I recognize that features enabled by this new tech will eventually come to other apps, but I will enable the feature on my schedule.
Good for you because this isnāt turned on by default. 
Thatās why you need to manually enable it.
You can enable it in winter to heat your apartment (and your neighborsā apartments) 
Album categories should already show up ā at worst youāll need to refresh some metadata

Besides, this thread is about the āGroup albums by typeā feature, which IS enabled by default.
Is there a way to change a live album to compilation? (i am sure there is, but i cant find it)
Thereās none ā unless you edit data directly on musicbrainz.org
would love to be able to set the category on this. a lot of my Phish and Grateful Dead sets are being put as studio albums for some reason
Another user asking to be able to manually override this. Half of my Dave Matthews Band albums are now showing up in live and half in studio.
im turning it off until they enable manual editing.
If enough people are interested in editing the release type, Iād be happy to put together a quick getting started guide for MusicBrainz editing.
I understand not everyone will want to do this though. Itās not unlikely that a future update to Plex Web will enable editing release types in your library, but editing at the source has the bonus effect of helping out the rest of the Plex community (and other music lovers worldwide).

Not particularly, itās just been a pet peeve of mine for years, and not just with Plex. Sorry if it came off a little harsh.
So Plex must be getting this from the MB Release Group primary and secondary types, yes? Iāve got a few albums that have been miscategorized in Plex, even though they are typed correctly in MB.
Iāve replied in that thread. Letās see if we can get to the bottom of that one.
