New IOS app is big step BACKWARDS

I have noticed another issue with the downloads on the iOS app. I have some video files in HEVC, and if I download from a specific episode’s page it will direct download the video file, but if I download from the season page, it will transcode all episodes, making each episode file much larger.

Well now this piece of trash update won’t play on my iPhone to the point I have to use a browser on my iPhone to play Plex content. Even when using the downloaded to the phone content it still stops, stutters, skips forward, skips backward, restarts play, and/or shows an HTTP error request message.

Is this what you’ve been wanting plex? For us to stop using the app altogether? Christ almighty, I haven’t seen this bad of an app update for anything in a VERY LONG time.

Does anybody know how we can get to the Plex Development team so they actually fix this and release updates for the iOS plex app so it’s starts working. again?

Now I only see use (rightfully) complaining, but you guys agreeing with the poor quality of the app after the update, doesn’t fix my issue and enable me to use the app again.

It would be nice if someone said they were at least working on fixing the playback issues. But I guess that depends on their priorities and strategy.

Is there a way to get any response from plex or is the forum just meant to be a bottomless well for people to bring up the many many flaws of the “design” team, without any accountability or fixing of the main legit issues?

Wére months further now and the Plex app is still not fix. As many many people have commented before, the March 2025 app ˜update˜ really made the app horrible and amongst many many other thinks, the download feature is completely unworkable.

How is it possible that i paid a lot of money for a lifetime subscription of a once-upon-a-time good app, and now get think crap? And the PLEX company isnt even doing anything with the vast amount of feedback of its paying customers nor have the decency to reply?
