New iOS Experience - Unable to Cast to my Vizio TV

Since the release of the new Plex app for iOS I’m unable to cast to my old Vizio TV that has some kind of built-in Chromecast. It’s not a modern “Smart” TV in that it doesn’t have any apps that you can select from a menu; just the option to cast to it from other apps from what I can tell.

In the older version of the iOS app I had no problems making a connection to the Chromecast device in the TV and streaming videos (and photos which I can’t do anymore, but that’s a topic for another thread) but with this new experience any attempt to establish a connection just results in a spinning circle and then a timeout.

Regardless of any troubleshooting steps I can’t get anything to cast anymore. I’ve rebooted the wireless router, the TV, the iPhone. I’ve made sure both devices are on the same SSID.

Any suggestions besides “buy a new TV?”

Not a solution, but a workaround. I bought a Roku Streaming Stick (4K) that makes my streaming of Plex to this old TV so much better.
