So today signed up for a new ISP (AT&T Fiber) and switched everything over. Looks like now I’m having trouble connecting remotely. Everything else is the same, using same router, same port forwarding as before. When I click Enable Remote Access it spins for a while, connects for a second or two, then disconnects right away. Anything else I should look for? I’ve tried rebooting the computer but that didn’t help. I’m sort of lost right now and no idea what else to try. Any help would be appreciated.
I wanted to put my public IP there right, and 32400 as the port? Can confirm that came back with an error and couldn’t see the service on the port. Any suggestions on what to try next?
Find out from your ISP if they’re using CGNAT. If so, you may need to request a static public IP and to be take off CGNat. this might cost you a few dollars a month.
(Alternatively, if your WAN / public IP address falls between 100.64.0.0 and 100.127.255.255 then you’re on CGNAT).
Okay, got on a phone call with Eero and fixed it. Needed to put my Modem/Router in passthrough mode and power down both the Modem and my Eero router. Hope this helps someone else.
