New items only appear after nightly job, do not appear after library scan

When new items, specifically an episode or two of any TV show, are added to the libraries monitored by Plex, they do not appear available when logging in.

My settings are:

  • Settings | Library | Scan my library automatically | Enabled
  • Settings | Library | Run a partial scan when changes are detected | Enabled
  • Settings | Library | Scan my library periodically
  • Settings | Library | Library scan interval | daily

When the files have been added to the libraries I:

  • Check to make sure the files are in the correct folder
  • Wait half an hour
  • Log out and back in to see if the partial scan detected changes
  • Confirm the shows are not visible to the library
  • Select Settings | Manage | Libraries | TV Shows | Scan Library Files
  • Wait half an hour
  • Log out and back in to see if the partial scan detected changes
  • Confirm the shows are not visible to the library

Overnight the Scheduled Tasks run and in the morning I can see the shows. What am I missing to force a refresh?

I found the issue. It was me. :slight_smile:

I have my media on my D: drive and my backup on my E: drive. Every night a job runs to backup new content from D: to E:.

My Movies folder was set to D:\ServerFolders\Movies\
My TV Shows folder was set to E:\ServerFolders\TV Shows\

This meant TV Shows only appeared after they were copied over.
